Universidad Politécnica de Madrid uses HyperWorks to compete in Student

Universidad Politécnica de Madrid’s student racing team competes in Formula Student and faced tight schedules and demanding performance targets to design, build and test an open‑wheel prototype. To meet those challenges they turned to Altair’s HyperWorks suite — notably HyperMesh and OptiStruct — for structural analysis, optimization and validation of chassis and suspension components.

Altair worked with the team to streamline their simulation-driven development, using HyperMesh for preprocessing and OptiStruct for topology and structural optimization; this enabled optimized chassis and suspension designs that reduced component weight while maintaining stiffness and strength, delivered improved on‑track performance and a better understanding of vehicle behavior under dynamic loads. Altair’s tools and support from Altair University directly contributed to faster, higher‑performance vehicle development.
