Toyota Motorsports faced opaque and growing software costs across its CAE, CAD and development toolset and needed to understand who was using which licenses, where and how often so management could make informed acquisition and renewal decisions. To solve this, Toyota Motorsports selected Altair’s Software Asset Optimization (SAO) system to monitor license usage and reveal actual demand.
Altair implemented SAO to pull vendor license‑server data and generate company‑wide reports, dashboards, alerts and chargeback analyses that answer who, where, why and how much software is used. As a result, Toyota Motorsports can now precisely meet management requests, optimize license counts, avoid unprofitable investments and consolidate software spending — achieving clear ROI and expected significant savings, particularly within the first one to two years.
