They were struggling with frequent crashes, extremely long processing times on very large models (hundreds of millions of elements), and the risk of losing years of legacy data when using their previous tools, so they evaluated Altair’s CAE offerings including Altair SimLab and OptiStruct to find a more reliable, end-to-end solution.

Altair implemented a SimLab-centered workflow (with OptiStruct for solving), preserving legacy data and providing integrated preprocessing, solving and postprocessing plus flexible licensing and training. With Altair’s tools, ten tech converted models in about 10–20 minutes (vs. hours), achieved 2–3x time savings on shock-response solves with OptiStruct, reduced large-model runtimes from ~24 hours to 3 hours, and significantly cut non-billable processing time.
