Sujan CooperStandard Achieves Light Weighting and Performance Targets with Altair

Sujan CooperStandard, the joint venture between the Sujan Group and CooperStandard France, manufactures NVH and other automotive components for OEMs under intense pressure to reduce weight, meet strict emissions and performance targets, and accelerate product launches. To shorten development cycles and improve first-pass quality, Sujan CooperStandard adopted Altair CAE solutions, notably Altair HyperWorks (including HyperMesh and HyperView) and other Altair tools.

Using Altair, the team expanded its R&D capability (now ~30 engineers and 46 HyperWorks units) and moved from basic pre-processing to full pre/post-processing, NVH analysis and optimization workflows. Altair-enabled use of OptiStruct, solidThinking Inspire and HyperWorks reduced development time and cost, achieved an 80% first-time-right rate, and delivered engine mounts and other components for Renault Kwid, Mahindra TUV 300 and KUV 100 within specified timelines. Altair’s tools also supported weight-optimization and torsion vibration damper analysis, measurably improving product performance and time-to-market.
