Stanley Black & Decker (SBD), the global leader in hand and power tools, needed affordable high-performance computing to scale CAE-based design optimization for complex products like rotary hammers. Facing three-week optimization runtimes on workstations and concerns about HPC hardware cost, license availability, and system complexity, SBD selected Altair’s HyperWorks Unlimited to enable faster, large-scale simulation-driven exploration.

Altair delivered a turnkey 160-core HyperWorks Unlimited appliance—preconfigured hardware with unlimited access to Altair solvers and tools (including Radioss, HyperStudy, HyperMesh and MotionSolve) and PBS Works for workload management—installed in days.
