Saving time and money with NovaFlow&Solid

Automotive Components Floby AB, a Swedish manufacturer of brake discs, wheel hubs and connecting rods in Floby, Sweden, was losing large amounts of critical production time when constructing brake components and needed to stabilize and optimize its casting processes. To address this, the company adopted Altair’s NovaFlow&Solid process-simulation software for in‑house use to analyze mold filling and solidification and move away from costly experimental iterations.

Altair implemented NovaFlow&Solid (with mesh-switching workflows and training) and AC Floby also signed a Technology Partner Agreement for updates and support. As a result, Altair’s solution stabilized production, reduced scrap rates and production errors, recovered lost production time, and shortened product development cycles—giving Automotive Components Floby AB measurable time and cost savings and a stronger competitive position.
