Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance Uses Altair SimSolid to Bring Vehicles Chassis Faster onto the Road

Renault Nissan Mitsubishi faced pressure to reduce chassis weight and shorten time-to-market across its large, global engineering organization. The CTC Chassis Technical Center needed an easy-to-use simulation tool that would let designers and part‑time analysts gain early, accurate insights without expert meshing or long FEA setups — and chose Altair’s SimSolid to address this challenge.

Altair implemented SimSolid so teams could run structural analyses directly on raw CAD assemblies, eliminating geometry prep and meshing and enabling autonomous design loops. Using Altair SimSolid, Renault Nissan Mitsubishi cut lead times from weeks to hours (25–100× faster), achieved error rates of roughly 5–10% on evaluated parts, and delivered significant time and cost savings while empowering non‑expert designers.
