Philips Design, the industrial design arm of Royal Philips responsible for products like shavers and health devices, needed a single, flexible tool to speed conceptual design, improve consistency across the team, and simplify handoffs to engineering. To meet that challenge they piloted and adopted Altair’s solidThinking Evolve, with Design Lead Jens Andersson leading training and early use on live projects.

Altair delivered solidThinking Evolve for concept development and visualization, enabling rapid iteration and better surface quality for engineering handoffs; Philips Design used Evolve on multiple products—including the Philips OneBlade, Philips Health Watch, and Bodygroom series 1000—with measurable outcomes such as significantly increased modeling speed, the ability to produce many iterations in a short time, and improved file transfer quality to engineering.
