PDTec needed a way to centralize and control its CAE data, standardize methods, retain engineering knowledge, and enable global collaboration across distributed teams. To address these challenges, Altair provided its SimData Manager simulation data management solution to give a single repository, versioning, and traceability from CAD to CAE and final reports.

Altair’s SimData Manager was implemented to store all CAE data centrally, capture and automate engineering methods, and provide web access and version control for global projects. The result was full audit-trail traceability of all CAE versions, easier retrieval and identification of CAD changes, improved CAE quality, preserved organizational knowledge, and enabled global teams to collaborate more effectively.
