A Altair Case Study
Mando Softtech, a supplier of automotive chassis, brakes, steering and suspension components, faced tight OEM-driven timelines and the need for highly accurate CAE results—particularly challenging meshing (Hexa, 2D/3D, tetra/volume tetra), thermal simulation for ECU housings, and structural/non-linear analysis. After evaluating multiple platforms, Mando Softtech chose Altair solutions, beginning with HyperMesh and expanding into the Altair HyperWorks® suite to meet these accuracy, flexibility and cost-effectiveness requirements.
Altair implemented a HyperWorks-based workflow (HyperMesh, SimLab, AcuSolve, RADIOSS, OptiStruct, sT Inspire) provisioned via 146 HyperWorks units, enabling reliable hexa/tetra meshing, thermal and non-linear structural analysis, and optimization. The deployment cut product development time by 30–40%, reduced knuckle meshing from about 5 hours to 2–3 hours, sped ECU drop-test simulations from 3–4 days to roughly 2 days, and achieved material and weight savings through OptiStruct-driven optimization—demonstrating measurable quality and productivity gains from Altair.
