MAHLE Streamlines Simulation Reporting using Altair Solution

Mahle Group, a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, needed to make CAE simulation reporting for complex pistons and connecting rods more consistent, thorough, and simpler to produce. Working with Altair and its HyperWorks suite (including HyperMesh and HyperView), Mahle sought a standardized, repeatable reporting process to remove variability between engineers and streamline communication with customers.

Altair implemented its Automated Reporting Director (ARD) embedded in HyperView to auto-generate standardized report pages, detect result maxima, select best views, and export to PowerPoint using customizable templates. The ARD deployment cut report preparation from about four–five hours to roughly 20–30 minutes for large models, delivered a single team-wide report layout, improved collaboration, and freed engineers to perform more analysis—accelerating design iterations and improving piston designs.
