Case Study: College of Engineering, Pune achieves a self-sustaining CAE Optimization Center and boosts student employability with Altair HyperWorks

Indian Engineering Institute CoEP Establishes CAE Optimization Center Employing Altair HyperWorks

The College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP) recognized a need to modernize its curriculum and close the gap between academic skills and industry expectations. To address this, CoEP partnered with Altair to equip a CAE-Optimization Lab using the Altair HyperWorks suite (including OptiStruct, HyperMesh, HyperStudy, RADIOSS and solidThinking Inspire) so students and faculty could learn contemporary tools for product design, analysis and optimization.

Altair helped establish the CoEP Center of Excellence for CAE-Optimization (launched in 2011 with DesignTech), supplying HyperWorks software and course-based training integrated into undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs. As a result, project quality and research output rose, company placements improved, the center became self-sustaining through evening training revenue, industry collaborations strengthened, and students gained the ability to produce lighter, stronger designs using Altair tools such as OptiStruct.
