Increasing panelist Engagement with Altair Rapidminer

National Consumer Panel (NCP), a joint venture of Circana and NielsenIQ, collects longitudinal consumer purchase data from a diverse panel of U.S. shoppers. When COVID-19 disrupted shopping patterns and panel reporting, NCP needed to validate whether drops in submissions reflected real behavior and quickly combine structured quantitative data with unstructured verbatim feedback. To address this, NCP engaged Altair and its RapidMiner platform (including Altair Al Studio) to analyze panelist comments alongside transactional data.

Using Altair RapidMiner’s text‑analytics and TextMiner/NLP capabilities, NCP converted free‑text feedback into structured insights, identified drivers of participation, and developed targeted incentives and communications. Altair RapidMiner enabled NCP to introduce a “Did Not Shop” code that improved response rates by 50%, forecast and reduce churn, and return panelist participation to pre‑COVID levels within two months—strengthening relationships and improving KPIs.
