A Altair Case Study
The United States Naval Academy faced a complex challenge organizing travel for over 3,000 midshipmen worldwide: disparate systems, manual processes, and incomplete reporting led to delays, errors, cost overruns and financial inconvenience to travelers. To address this, the Academy deployed Altair’s Monarch solution to handle structured and unstructured data without requiring changes to existing systems.
Altair implemented Monarch to acquire, join, cleanse and automate disparate travel data and embed business rules for decision support, producing timely, actionable reports. As a result, Altair enabled a compliant, repeatable and scalable process that significantly reduced the total hours required to administer the Midshipmen Summer Travel Program, cut processing errors and cost overruns, improved traveler entitlements and operational readiness, and lowered future system enhancement costs.
