Case Study: Opel achieves improved CAE productivity and NVH quality with Altair's Engine Mount Studio

A Altair Case Study

Preview of the Opel Case Study

Improving Design Productivity through Automation

Opel, a major automotive OEM, faced growing CAE cycle times and complexity in designing engine mount systems due to more car variants, larger data volumes and limited load-case detail. To capture and reuse engineering knowledge and enable input-deck generation without full load-case information, Opel engaged Altair, which developed a tailored solution using HyperWorks’ modular automation framework and the Engine Mount Studio product.

Altair’s Engine Mount Studio guides engineers through data collection, analysis setup, automatic optimization and robustness assessment, and is now used in production for midsized and small car projects by CAE and test teams. The Altair solution captured Opel’s design best practices, automated many standard processes, improved NVH quality through integrated optimization/robustness methods, and increased overall CAE productivity.
