A Altair Case Study
Esterline Advanced Sensors, a leading provider of aeronautic sensors with a development site in Bourges, faced the challenge of delivering bespoke sensors under frequently changing customer specifications. A five‑engineer team must run intensive simulations on small, multi‑material assemblies, requiring rapid model creation and modifications and high‑quality structured meshes to minimize calculation time and allow multiple design iterations. To address this, Esterline turned to Altair’s HyperWorks platform, specifically using HyperMesh for preprocessing and meshing.
Altair implemented HyperWorks/HyperMesh to prepare CAD models, generate accurate structured meshes, and support FE, NVH and CFD analyses. By using HyperMesh, Esterline improved FE accuracy, reduced model‑creation and modification time, and cut calculation times—enabling more iterations, higher safety margins and overall savings in development time and cost, outcomes credited to Altair’s HyperWorks solution.
