Case Study: ACENTISS achieves lightweight, optimized ELIAS electric aircraft design with Altair HyperWorks

A Altair Case Study

Preview of the Acentiss Case Study

HyperWorks helps ACENTISS in the development of Elias, a new electrically powered ultra-lightweight airplane

Acentiss, an engineering services provider for aerospace, renewable energy and automotive sectors, used Altair’s HyperWorks suite while developing ELIAS, an all‑electric ultra‑light aircraft. Tasked with reengineering an existing airframe and designing composite wings, landing gear kinematics and an electric reconnaissance system, Acentiss needed to minimize weight, shorten development time and reduce costly prototype iterations.

Acentiss applied Altair’s HyperWorks tools—HyperMesh, HyperView, MotionSolve and OptiStruct—for FE analysis, composite design, multi‑body kinematics and topology optimization to determine optimal fiber volumes, component stiffness and geometry. With Altair’s solution they reduced development iterations and time, delivered lighter components that met strength and performance targets, and passed certification tests, achieving measurable weight and time‑to‑design improvements.
