A Altair Case Study
The Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania’s business school, needed to scale its high-performance computing (HPC) environment to support a large and growing roster of users without disrupting access to tools, infrastructure, and technical expertise. Already using Altair Grid Engine for job management, The Wharton School engaged Altair and evaluated Altair NavOps to cost‑effectively extend HPC capacity into the cloud.
Altair implemented NavOps to automate and orchestrate cloud bursting and manage increasing volumes of high‑priority workloads, enabling Wharton to expand capacity while preserving user access and performance. The Altair solution delivered improved response speed and accuracy for time‑sensitive jobs and provided a scalable, cost‑effective path to cloud HPC for the school’s research users.
