Gulplug Drives Innovation in the Charging Industry with Altair's Startup Program

Gulplug, a Grenoble-based startup founded in 2014, set out to develop Selfplug®, a magnetic, automatically self-plugging conductive charging solution for electric vehicles, but needed affordable simulation tools to predict and optimize magnetic guidance and coil design without overspending. Through Altair's startup program, Gulplug gained access to Altair Flux and other Altair tools to support its development within tight budget constraints.

Using Altair Flux, Altair helped Gulplug model the magnetic guidance system, define coil sizes and placement, and validate designs virtually before building prototypes. The Altair-enabled workflow increased confidence prior to physical development, reduced prototyping costs, and accelerated time-to-market—helping Gulplug bring its e-mobility innovation to market faster while improving product robustness.
