Eka Mobility, created by Pinnacle Industries with VDL Group under India’s PLI scheme, needed to accelerate its electrified bus programs while optimizing range, drivetrain efficiency, charging and other system-level performance early in the design cycle. To avoid disciplinary silos and gain a holistic view of motor, power electronics, battery, vehicle dynamics and controls, Eka Mobility engaged Altair and used Altair Activate® for integrated system-of-systems simulation.

Altair developed a validated full-vehicle system model (battery, motor, driveline, ABS/regenerative braking, vehicle dynamics and controls) and used real-world and standard drive cycles to tune and confirm performance. Altair’s simulations matched actual test results to 92–95% accuracy and reduced product development time by about four months, minimizing physical testing and enabling lower costs and future digital-twin development.
