Building an Efficient CAE Simulation Platform at the Pan Asia Automotive Technology Center

The Pan Asia Automotive Technology Center (PATAC), a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC Motor, needed to scale and synchronize growing CAE simulation work across vehicle and subsystem teams while driving digital transformation. After a nearly two-year selection process PATAC chose Altair, building on existing use of Altair HyperWorks, Altair PBS Works, HyperMesh (and Part Browser) to deliver a tailored simulation management platform.

Altair designed and implemented a custom platform with five core modules (full-vehicle rapid modeling, master model management, CAE data/load-case management, process management, and a collaborative dashboard), integrated with PBS Professional for HPC. The solution centralized CAE data, enabled model reuse and automated job submission, improved visualization and tracking of analyses, and delivered faster design cycles, more efficient simulation workflows, stronger collaboration, and a measurable competitive advantage for PATAC.
