Bringing Motorsport to the People – Altair Startup Program Gives Griiip’s Race-Car G1 and the G1 Series a Jump-start

Griiip, an Israeli motorsport startup developing the smart connected G1 race car and the G1 Series to make racing more affordable and fan‑focused, faced the engineering challenge of producing very strong yet extremely light components while cutting development cost and time. To meet this challenge the company adopted Altair software—primarily the Altair HyperWorks suite (including Altair Radioss, Altair OptiStruct, HyperMesh and HyperView)—and gained access to these tools through the Altair Startup Program.

Using Altair HyperWorks for crash simulation, structural optimization and FE analysis, Altair helped Griiip drastically reduce physical iterations and development time, reach final component designs faster, and improve on‑track performance—most notably increasing frame stiffness and lowering weight simply by optimising tube diameters without extensive physical testing. Altair’s solutions also shortened production cycles, reduced racing costs, and enabled Griiip to expand into data‑driven services and explore additive manufacturing and IoT/data‑mining capabilities.
