Supreme Industries, a market-leading Indian plastics manufacturer, needed to accelerate innovation across injection, roto, extrusion and other molding processes without sacrificing strength, durability or cost. To validate complex ribbing and load-bearing designs early in the cycle and reduce physical testing, Supreme Industries partnered with Altair and adopted the Altair HyperWorks CAE suite, including OptiStruct and Radioss, to meet its product design, performance and manufacturing objectives.
Altair implemented HyperWorks workflows—OptiStruct for topology/topography/size/shape optimization and Radioss for impact and nonlinear analysis—enabling optimized ribbing and thickness for products such as manhole covers, defense drop boxes and septic tanks. The work delivered measurable gains: a 50% reduction in the number of prototypes, a 15% weight reduction for the manhole cover, deformation reductions of up to 40% in tanks, faster time-to-market and the ability to enter new product segments using Altair’s solutions.
