American Aerospace Electrical - Customer Case Study

American Aerospace Electrical, an early adopter in 2022, faced the risk of a costly board re-spin after final-stage schematic inspection revealed potential design errors in complex electrical schematics. Altair stepped in with its AI-powered schematic inspection solution, CADY, to analyze netlists, BOMs and component datasheets and flag inconsistencies before manufacturing.

Altair’s CADY automatically identified two critical issues — a pull-up resistor value below the datasheet minimum (and missing reset capacitors on two nets), and an ambient temperature range mismatch for regulator UA78M33CKVURG3 — which the designer marked “need to fix,” added the capacitors and replaced the regulator. Altair’s system, which delivers roughly 80% accuracy and flags actionable issues in over 65% of inspected projects, eliminated the need for a re-spin, improving design reliability and accelerating time to market.
