Altair solutions accelerate tailored Electronic design at psicontrol

Psicontrol, part of Picanol Group, is a Belgian high‑tech company that designs custom control systems and HMIs and needed a way to validate many variants of its "4 inch concept" platform early in development to meet tight constraints on size, thermal behavior, power, EMC, and manufacturability. To achieve “first‑time right” PCB designs and reduce prototype iterations, Psicontrol turned to Altair, leveraging Altair Feko, PollEx and HyperStudy for early virtual testing and analysis.

Altair implemented a combined workflow—Feko for EMC and antenna performance, PollEx for PCB‑level physical, thermal and electrical analysis, and HyperStudy for parametrized optimization—enabling full‑system simulation across mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic and embedded code. Using Altair’s solutions, Psicontrol cut PCB development from about 10 weeks to 6 weeks (a 4‑week reduction), achieved first‑time‑right prototypes, reduced costly prototype iterations, and brought required analyses in‑house, increasing confidence and derisking hardware procurement.
