Altair SmartCore™ Optimizes Fleet Management at Boyacá

Boyacá, a 35‑year Spanish newspaper and magazine delivery company, needed low‑cost, real‑time visibility of arrival and departure times across its distribution hubs to control costs and improve on‑time delivery. To meet this challenge they engaged Altair and used the Altair SmartCore IoT platform to capture and transmit timestamps from each node.

Altair implemented a solution using RFID driver cards and custom 3Gclock devices at each logistics node, integrating data into Boyacá’s SQL database and corporate IT systems; the end‑to‑end system was deployed in less than three months. The Altair solution delivered real‑time arrival/departure timestamps, eliminated data discrepancies, enabled timeliness quality control and automated processes across several hundred trucks, 63 logistics platforms and more than 25,000 daily delivery locations.
