Altair SmartCore™ Delivers Data Driven Ecosystem to Make Pozuelo Del Alarcón a Smart City

Pozuelo de Alarcón wanted to become a cleaner, more efficient Smart City—reducing energy and water use, cutting CO2 emissions, eliminating consumption excesses and controlling expenses. To achieve these goals the city council partnered with Altair and deployed the Altair SmartCore IoT platform to monitor and manage municipal infrastructure and services.

Altair implemented four integrated projects on SmartCore: smart irrigation in 11 public parks with humidity sensors, smart parking across 970 spaces with a citizen app, smart street lighting that adjusts for weather and traffic (integrated with Schréder Socelec sensors and connectivity from Orange España), and energy-efficiency monitoring at more than 150 locations. Altair’s platform provides real‑time dashboards and analytics that enable skipped irrigation on rainy days, visibility-triggered lighting, optimized energy use and improved parking flow—resulting in reduced water and energy consumption, lower CO2 emissions and measurable operational savings.
