A Altair Case Study
RINGER, headquartered in Regau, Austria, is a leading scaffolding and formwork manufacturer that needed to redesign a cornice frame to allow more scaffolding levels without increasing weight while meeting Eurocode safety standards. Their traditional FEA-driven workflow was slow, relied on external experts, and often missed over‑dimensioned components—driving up material use and development costs. To address this, RINGER adopted Altair’s design and simulation technology, using Altair SimSolid from the Altair HyperWorks platform.
Using Altair SimSolid, RINGER performed structural load analyses in parallel with design, quickly locating von Mises stress hotspots and iterating the model to meet standards. The Altair solution enabled the team to increase allowable scaffolding from 2 to 7 stories without added weight, substantially reduce physical prototypes, cut development time and costs, and decrease material mass—while empowering engineers to run reliable simulations without deep FEM expertise.
