AI Improves Customer Service and Product Quality for White Goods Manufacturer

Mabe, a Mexico City–based manufacturer of stoves, refrigerators, washing machines and other white goods sold in more than 70 countries, launched a high-end connected washing machine that generates over 20 sensor signals. To handle the volume, velocity, and complexity of streaming field data and to predict failures and inform design improvements, Mabe partnered with Altair and adopted Altair Knowledge Studio and Altair Panopticon as part of its connected-product strategy.

Altair implemented a three-stage solution—high-performance SQL data collection, machine learning model development in Altair Knowledge Studio (integrating Mabe’s LIME algorithms), and real-time dashboards via Altair Panopticon—delivering a complete analytics workflow in under 60 days. The Altair solution produces automated failure alerts, shortens complaint response times, reduces warranty service calls, delivers engineering insights for better designs and supplier choices, and provides a repeatable workflow Mabe can apply across other product lines.
