Improving Operational Efficiency with the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen Summer Travel Program

Immersion Consulting, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business and Altair partner, partnered with the U.S. Naval Academy to improve the Midshipmen Summer Travel Program. Coordinating travel for more than 3,000 midshipmen worldwide was error-prone and slow because disparate financial and travel systems couldn’t produce timely, accurate data; the Academy needed a way to acquire, associate, join and cleanse both structured and unstructured sources to produce coherent, decision-ready reports.

Immersion deployed Altair Monarch, a self-service data-transformation tool that automates acquisition, joining, cleansing and reporting using business rules across multiple data sources. The solution delivered a compliant, repeatable and scalable process that produces actionable, prioritized reports, reduces administration hours and future enhancement costs, eases the burden on coordinators and financial managers, and improved operational readiness and the midshipmen travel experience.
