Driving Industry 4.0 at Mabe Altair RapidMiner User Behavior Predictions Help Optimize Appliance Performance

Mabe, a Mexico‑City‑based global appliance manufacturer, sought to turn data from its connected refrigerators into actionable insights. The company wanted to use historical field data to predict consumer behavior—such as door‑opening frequency and duration—to optimize compressor and fan cycles, save energy, and keep food fresher without degrading customer experience.

Altair and Mabe built an AI workflow with Altair RapidMiner (AI Studio) to extract, clean, and model over a million records, predicting usage patterns by day of week and recommending adjustments to automated routines. Deployed via Altair AI Hub in about 60 days, the solution enables scoring of new data, testing against historic behavior, and ongoing optimization—improving appliance efficiency and informing Mabe’s product development with scalable AI insights.
