A Alpha Video Case Study
Midwestern State University’s School of Mass Communication needed a modern broadcast learning environment, but its program had been squeezed into spaces never designed for media production. Working with Alpha Video, the university set out to create a dual-purpose facility that could support teaching and production while still converting into classrooms when needed, all within budget constraints.
Alpha Video designed and installed a full broadcast facility featuring a live production control room, studio, edit suites, a newsroom, a journalism lab, a voice-over booth, and centralized storage and routing infrastructure built around Ross, Avid, Sony, Panasonic, Clear-Com, and related systems. The result, opened in September 2017, gave students access to professional-grade tools and workflows, improved recruiting and learning conditions, and better prepared graduates for the workforce using the same technologies found in professional studios.
