KSTP-TV, an ABC affiliate owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, needed to move from an SD newsroom and master control environment to a more flexible HD digital workflow. Working with Alpha Video, the station planned a tapeless newsroom that would connect ENPS newsroom automation with Apple Final Cut Pro editing while supporting its existing production systems.

Alpha Video implemented a complete HD/SD newsroom, master control, and studio upgrade using Panasonic AJ-HPX3700 P2 cameras, Apple Final Cut Studio, Promise VTrak storage with Xsan, Xendata management software, and Spectra Logic LTO-4 backup. The solution bridged ENPS and Final Cut Pro through Galaxy S8i integration, enabling automated editing and publishing workflows, HD-SDI playout, and real-time down/cross conversion. KSTP-TV reported that the project aligned with its long-term tapeless newsroom goals and delivered the workflow efficiency needed to move solidly into high-definition newsgathering.
