A Alpha Video Case Study
KDLT, an NBC affiliate local news network in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, needed to upgrade its live television HD video production. The station was broadcasting network programming in HD, but its local newscast was still in SD, and it also wanted to move from manual studio camera operation to a tapeless news production workflow. KDLT partnered with Alpha Video for system design, equipment selection, installation, and training.
Alpha Video helped KDLT implement a Ross Video Carbonite 2M production switcher as the core of the control room, along with Ross Video CamBot robotic cameras, a Grass Valley K2 backup system, and a Fluid Network EDI for file sharing. The switcher also enabled direct control of XPression graphics. As a result, KDLT was able to broadcast its entire production in HD and improved staff productivity and workflow efficiency.
