City Of Farmington - Customer Case Study

City of Farmington, working with the Apple Valley Farmington Rosemount Cable Commission, needed to upgrade its city council chamber technology from standard-definition analog to HD digital for live and taped government access cablecasts. The goal was to create an affordable, easy-to-use setup that could be shared across the three cities while delivering a higher-quality viewing experience for residents. Alpha Video helped design the new control room and video system.

Alpha Video implemented a standardized HD solution featuring five Panasonic AW-HE120 PTZ cameras, a WolfVision EYE-12 document camera, a Panasonic AW-RP120 controller, a Broadcast Pix Mica switcher, and recording/playback gear from DataVideo and JVC. The Farmington chamber was completed first in fall 2014, with Rosemount and Apple Valley following in 2015. The result was a high-quality cablecast and live-streaming production that improved public transparency and made it easier for staff to support meetings across all three cities.
