Austin Independent School District needed to renovate historic Knowlton Auditorium and the connected gymnasium to upgrade aging audio/video technology, improve lighting, and make the space easier for non-technical staff to operate. The district wanted the auditorium to continue attracting outside performances, community events, and high-profile users, so it partnered with Alpha Video to design and integrate the new AV systems.

Alpha Video installed a full auditorium and gym AV upgrade, including Electro-Voice speakers and microphones, a Roland M-480 digital mixer, Christie and Vivitek projectors, Broadcast Pix video switching, Panasonic PTZ cameras, Crestron control systems, and multiple confidence and lobby displays. The result was a reliable, user-friendly system that staff could control from a touchscreen or iPads, reducing the need for an AV specialist and improving usability for school and community events.
