Worldpay Allows Its Customers to Easily Add In-App Payment Processing to Complex Mobile and Web Apps

Worldpay, a payments division serving retail, restaurants, ecommerce and small business, needed a faster way for customers to build payment-enabled mobile apps — in particular helping client Cloudworks Global finish Athleticloud, a mobile hub for high‑school athletics that required payments, group communication and offline capability. Previous development efforts had been slow and too complex to meet Cloudworks’ needs.

Worldpay chose Alpha Anywhere and collaborated on an API that tightly integrates Worldpay payments into Alpha-built apps and supports offline operation. The result: Cloudworks delivered an app that records data offline and syncs later, development time and cost were reduced, and the company can now expand into broader scheduling, resource management and in‑app payments, tapping a fast-growing mobile payments market.
