Truck Manufacturer Streamlines Operations with Mobile Apps

JC Payne, a truck manufacturer, needed to replace spreadsheets and an outdated Microsoft Access database with a modern web-based manufacturing control system that could capture shop-floor data and manage back-office functions. The goal was to digitize manufacturing, streamline operations, improve quality, and make better use of assemblers. Alpha Software’s Alpha Anywhere and Alpha TransForm were used by the implementation partner, Start Software, to build the new system.

Alpha Software’s solution enabled JC Payne to add custom fields, create quotation and document templates, generate reports to Excel/PDF, and auto-email daily, weekly, and monthly reports to managers. Alpha TransForm also let staff complete live factory paperwork with photos and signatures, and trigger urgent alerts when needed. Since deployment, JC Payne reported much more streamlined processes across sales, administration, and aftersales, including quotations, production progress, vehicle administration, and warranty handling.
