Scan QR Codes To Dynamically Produce Mobile Forms

Robinson Solutions, a provider of facility services, maintenance, production support, technical services, and facilities management, needed a way to create mobile forms that could scan QR codes and dynamically generate task lists to speed audits across its clients’ production facilities. The company wanted one offline application that could adapt to changing audit criteria without maintaining a database, and used Alpha Software’s Alpha TransForm mobile forms builder to support the initiative.

Alpha Software implemented a solution using Alpha TransForm’s Datagroups and TransForm Programming Language (TPL) so a scanned QR code could be parsed into a customized set of questions in real time. This allowed the form to dynamically create the right number of task rows with Yes/No/N/A responses entirely offline, with no backend setup required. Robinson Solutions plans to roll out the solution at multiple client sites to speed tasks and provide real-time feedback.
