Management and Reporting and Data Collection App Uses Tablets to Help Break the Cycle of Homelessness

The Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) in Petaluma, California, is a nonprofit that prevents and breaks the cycle of homelessness through shelters, housing, and outreach. As COTS shifted to a Housing First model, caseworkers needed tablet-based field apps to meet HUD data-collection and HMIS integration requirements and to replace desktop-only processes that slowed outreach and reporting.

COTS selected Alpha Anywhere to build tablet and smartphone apps with mobile forms, GPS and image capture, automatic travel/time logging, offline sync, and HMIS/HUD compliance—apps that non-developers can maintain. The result: faster, more accurate field data collection, greatly reduced paperwork, streamlined reporting and accounting integration, more time for direct client services, and increased community engagement.
