Low-Code, Rapid App Development Enables Assistant Coach to Build Analytics App that Helps Lead Team to Championship

Brock University’s men’s hockey team, led in part by assistant coach Gary Miotto, was relying on Excel and paper to capture game stats and lacked the real-time analytics needed to sharpen game-day strategy. Miotto needed a fast, cross-platform solution he could build without programming to record high-frequency in-game events and support desktop, mobile and cloud use.

Using Alpha Anywhere’s low-code platform, Miotto rapidly visually designed the database, forms and business logic and delivered a robust analytics app. The app captures high-granularity, real-time stats, generates custom locker-room reports that improved coaching decisions and competitiveness (contributing to championship success), reduced resource needs, made the staff self-sufficient in app development, and is now being considered for professional use.
