University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union, a $549 million institution serving more than 25,000 members across four branches on Oahu, needed a more cost-effective way to handle item processing after corporate credit union restructuring prompted a review of its outsourcing model. Alogent implemented the new system within the credit union’s four-month window, with minimal disruption and no additional FTEs required. The credit union was able to keep existing front-line staff, absorb the added back-office work, and reduce ongoing costs, with Fed fees significantly lower than outsourcing and a projected payback period of less than five years.
