How Tower Federal Credit Union converted to teller capture and electronic cash letter

Tower Federal Credit Union, a $2.56 billion credit union with 16 branches, needed to modernize a paper-based check processing operation that relied on couriers, manual sorting, and duplicate scanning across multiple systems. To support a phased conversion with minimal disruption, Tower FCU selected Alogent and its ImagePoint suite to help move from manual check handling to an image-based workflow.

Alogent implemented teller capture, electronic cash letters, and automated processing for over-the-counter items, inclearings, outgoing returns, and incoming returns. The result was a fully electronic check-processing lifecycle that eliminated courier transport, reduced daily scanning work from eight or more hours to about four, enabled reassignment of two full-time employees, and removed the need for a reader/sorter, two encoders, and a separate check-processing application.
