Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU), a natural health care institution with over 9,000 alumni, struggled with low engagement, an outdated database, and limited staff resources. The small alumni team found it challenging to foster a culture of philanthropy and execute segmented communication. To address these challenges, they sought a solution from the vendor Almabase.
By implementing Almabase and integrating it with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, NWHSU automated its database updates and adopted an alumni-centric digital engagement strategy. Almabase enabled the university to host successful virtual events and Giving Day campaigns. The results included over 1,000 event registrations, a 98% rate of updated alumni contact information, a 51% email engagement rate, and a significant increase in funds and donors raised year-over-year.
