L&T Shipbuilding, a leading Indian maritime company building warships, submarines, auxiliary vessels, and handling ship repairs, wanted to see how Alma CAM’s act/cut could integrate with its Nupas Cadmatic design environment after a successful deployment at its Hazira site. The challenge was to replace its existing nesting workflow, previously handled by Nestix and Tribon Nesting, with a more tailored and automated solution.

Alma CAM developed a customer-specific application that enabled L&T Shipbuilding to automatically extract and import DXF files with multiple parts, process unitary part attributes, create or update manufacturing orders, and import/export CSV data from the ERP system. As a result, Alma CAM successfully replaced the legacy nesting solutions and streamlined L&T Shipbuilding’s nesting and order-management processes.
