Naidu Consulting (Pty) Ltd worked on a community safety project in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, to help schoolchildren safely cross an unguarded railway line, the Kwapata River, and a wetland on the way to Kwapata Primary School. The project involved three pedestrian bridges and access ramps, with a strong focus on labour-intensive construction and local job creation.

Naidu Consulting (Pty) Ltd helped deliver the solution by planning and managing the bridges, ramps, footpaths, gabions, and wetland rehabilitation in a way that maximized local labour use. The works were completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality requirements, with 30 people employed, beneficiaries trained and certified, and a lasting safety asset created for the community.
