A AllyCAD Case Study
Mayer Engineering, a Cape Town mechanical design firm, was tasked with creating a machine to automate the wool-removal process from sheepskins for a client in the sheepskin industry. The challenge was to replace a hazardous, manual chemical process with a system that could match labour output while handling the natural variation in sheepskin size and shape. AllyCAD was used to develop the design drawings for the project.
Using AllyCAD, Mayer Engineering was able to accurately position boards at exact angles, measure distances between points, and quickly produce precise drawings that would have taken much longer by hand. The vendor, AllyCAD, helped speed up the design process so the drawings were completed within a week and a sample machine was built in another week, supporting a largely automated system that required only minimal manual handling and was still in testing phase.
