Lesotho Ministry of Works - Customer Case Study

The Lesotho Ministry of Works’ Roads Department needed to upgrade and manage road projects efficiently, including surveying, geometric design, drainage, and realignment work on routes such as the A24 and Maluti access road. Chief Technical Officer Motsi Mohlabana and his team relied on AllyCAD, including its Civil Toolkit and Civil Designer, to support their design work and produce faster outputs for road rehabilitation and upgrading projects.

AllyCAD helped the Lesotho Ministry of Works deliver the 9.5 km A24 road upgrade from gravel to bitumen standard, along with horizontal and vertical realignment, despite route challenges involving residential relocations. The project was started in November 2006 and successfully completed in April 2007, while the 500 km Maluti access road was also completed, improving traffic flow and providing better access to Maluti Hospital.
