The City of Cape Town needed a better way to handle survey, CAD, and design work for infrastructure planning, especially for hidden services and road development. Using AllyCAD, along with Civil Designer, the city’s survey team could integrate GIS data, aerial photography, and field coordinates directly into drawings, improving accuracy and speeding up day-to-day work.

AllyCAD helped the City of Cape Town complete projects more efficiently and at lower cost, including an in-house survey for a Durbanville one-way road system. The team handled 13,000 tache shots internally at about a third of the commercial rate, avoided compatibility issues with consultants, and produced studies still used to guide development. The software also supported student training and budget-conscious internal projects, delivering long-term value for the city.
