Central University of Technology (CUT) in the Free State uses AllyCAD and Civil Designer in its Civil Engineering curriculum, helping students learn practical design skills alongside theory. Lecturer Nico Grobbelaar said the software has made a big difference in how students approach the course, especially in drawing and civil design modules.

With AllyCAD, CUT implemented subsidised software support and academic sponsorships through Knowledge Base, while students used the tools in second- and third-year coursework. The result has been very positive student feedback, stronger engagement in practical classes, and good pass marks in related subjects; Nico also uses his long experience with AllyCAD to mentor other lecturers and support student success.
